The public is being asked to assist the Crescent City Police Department to help solve an armed robbery that took place today, Monday January 6, 2014, at approximately 7:08 AM at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Store, located at 905 Northcrest Drive. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the store clerk who advised them that a male subject had entered the business through the rear door just as the store was opening for business and demanded money while brandishing a blue steel handgun. The clerk complied with the subject’s demands and he left with an undisclosed amount of money in a woven red, black, and gray saddle bag style pouch concealed under his clothing.
The subject was described as a White Male Adult 5’6” to 5’7”tall, slender build, between 20-27 years of age, goatee, wearing baggie clothing including black “jogging” pants, blue windbreaker with an attached hoodie. The suspect was also wearing a white mesh mask covering his face but still exposing a goatee. After obtaining the money the suspect physically assaulted the clerk and ran out of the business through the rear doors and left the area in a northerly direction.
The suspect was loitering around the dumpsters at the rear of the building waiting for the clerk to open the business prior to the robbery.
