The oldest tradition on the Arcata Plaza: 4th of July Jubilee
ARCATA- Music played throughout the day on the Arcata Plaza as families and friends enjoyed the Independence Day celebration.
The 4th of July Jubilee is an annual event put on by the Arcata Chamber of Commerce since 1959. The day featured music by local bands, food from local vendors, a bubble parade and a kids play zone.
Organizers of the event said it is one of the best ways to celebrate the nation's birthday. Rick Levin, Chamber President, said the plaza on July 4th is an example of how great small town America can be. "Our Northern California style of small town America," he said.
