Organizers: Firework show in Eureka will be "spectacular"
EUREKA- Final preparations for Friday’s firework show in Eureka are being made, and organizers say the display will be a spectacular one.
Eureka resident Mike Jones, along with staff with the City of Eureka, worked all year to raise money for the firework display. Thirty thousand dollars was raised this year, with the final donation coming in on Thursday. More than 350 fireworks will light up the night sky for about 23 minutes over Humboldt Bay on Friday
"The Fourth of July is this country's birthday, and it shouldn't go unnoticed, especially for our young children. Fireworks on Humboldt Bay is a very special event that charges up the American spirit and keeps the American spirit alive. I think it's very important to just keep it going forever," said Jones.
