Pedestrian hit by pick-up truck near Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY- A pedestrian is taken to the hospital for major injuries, after being hit by a pick-up truck outside of Crescent City. The California Highway Patrol said it happened on Sunday night. The driver, 23-year-old John Fisher was driving his truck southbound on Highway 101, south of Parkway Drive, at about 35 miles per hour. It was then that William Giles 44 years old entered the roadway from the center divider, going directly into the path of Fisher. Giles was hit and taken to Sutter Coast Hospital for major injuries. The collision is still under investigation.
