EUREKA- A male pedestrian was hit by a Humboldt Transit Authority bus Friday morning on 5th and O Street.
Witnesses reported that the man tried to get on the bus, but was denied because he was allegedly intoxicated. He then stumbled into the road when the bus started to leave.
The man was transported to St. Joseph hospital with a laceration on his left leg.
"Transit buses are quite large, when they take off their review in the rear mirrors is restricted so it's probably more difficult than a regular size vehicle. So if you're anywhere near bus or truck, just take into account that they might not see you. Obviously buses are close to the curb line, so don't walk next to the curb line. And this gentleman was intoxicated, so it can go wrong pretty quick," said Abraham Jansen, Eureka Police Department Officer.
