With just hours left in 2013, people in Eureka gave news channel 3 their New Year’s resolutions.

"My new year's resolution this year is just to be a better person and to be kinder to everyone around me," said Tracy Thayer, who lives in Eureka.

"We were talking about hiking the trinity alps this year and getting back into our healthy self gear and it should be really exciting," said Jessica La Farga of Arcata.

"I plan to get more involved in the community. I'm thinking of volunteering at the Humboldt County Animal Shelter," said Marianna Williams, who lives in Kneeland.
