EUREKA - A new app is delivering answers for your Election Day questions, right into the palm of your hand. The app went live just two days ago and is called the “Voting Information Project” or “VIP”.
By plugging in your address to “VIP”, it finds your closest poll locations for Election Day and even gives information on statewide candidates and propositions. The app is designed for smart phones, both iPhone and android, and is free. If you don’t have a smart-phone, you can visit their website called “get to the polls dot com” which provides you with the same information.
“Kind of like the onset of online voter registration a few years ago, people found it very easy to use and secure and so I think these resources are going to be another set of information for pollers," Carolyn Crnich, Registrar of Voters, said.
And with so much going online and on our phones, Crnich did note we won’t be seeing online voting anytime soon. It has been tested but is still not 100 percent secure.
