Police: Hit and run suspect turns himself in

EUREKA- A Eureka man suspected to be involved in a hit and run crash turned himself in according to the Eureka Police Department. On Wednesday officers said Jamie Christie, 36 of Eureka was driving his truck southbound on J Street when witnesses said he ran a stop sign at Buhne Street and collided with a VW Jetta driving eastbound. 
Officers say Christie fled the scene but that they later found his truck in the 900 block of Huntoon Street in Eureka. On Thursday officers said Christie turned himself in and was arrested for felony hit and run, driving on a suspended license, and violating parole. 
As for the two passengers of the VW Jetta, both the 46-year-old driver and juvenile passenger were taken to St. Joseph hospital.
