Police standoff ends with one man arrested

Eureka Police were involved in a standoff with a man who allegedly fired a gun outside an apartment window in Old Town.

Police responded to a building located on the 200 block of C Street at around nine p.m. Monday, after receiving calls of a gunshot fired.

After talking with law enforcement on the phone, the male suspect was taken into custody at 1:52 a.m.

Near-by streets in Old Town were closed during the nearly five hour standoff. News Channel 3 talked to Eureka Police Chief Andrew Mills on scene regarding the incident.
