Preliminary hearing set for Marcia Kitchen trial
EUREKA - A date has been set for Marcia Kitchen's preliminary hearing.
Originally scheduled last October, the hearing will be held May 8th. That's nearly ten months after authorities allege Kitchen struck her own daughter, Kiya, and her friend, Faith Tsarnas, with a Jeep while they were skateboarding on Eel River Drive in Fortuna the night of July 12th. Both 14-year-olds died from their injuries.
Kitchen faces multiple counts including vehicular manslaughter with a special allegation of fleeing the scene and causing death to another. She is also charged with driving under the influence with a special allegation involving the death of others.
The hearing is expected to last at least five days.
