Prosecution presents surveillance footage against Jason Warren
EUREKA- Tuesday was the first day of what is expected to be a two week preliminary hearing for the man accused of killing a Hoopa woman and then running down a group of joggers, killing another, in Freshwater.
The prosecution brought forward surveillance footage from the Hoopa Mini-Mart, which they believe shows suspect Jason Warren and Dorothy Ulrich meeting up around 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 26 2012 and leaving in Ulrich’s car together moments later.
The prosecution then presented video surveillance from Ulrich’s home, which showed both arriving in her car nearly 20 minutes after leaving the mini-mart. Audio from one of the surveillance cameras captures sounds of what appears to be a woman being hit and pleading for her life around 4:30 a.m. the following morning on Sept. 27 2012.
It is unknown yet who was inside of Ulrich’s home when the sounds were made and it is also unknown how exactly Ulrich and Warren knew each other or why they were meeting up at the mini-mart. Warren is charged with two counts of Murder and two counts of Attempted Murder along with two special allegation charges, lying and wait, and torture. If convicted he faces the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
