Red Cross Disaster Action Team training to be held this weekend
EUREKA- Training sessions will be held this weekend for the next members of the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team.
The team provides emergency assistance, such as money to replace food and clothing, during natural disasters and other local emergencies. The Eureka Office currently has about 20 team members who choose when they can be on call. Now, Red Cross officials say more volunteers are needed. This weekend’s training will mainly focus on assisting people during home fires.
Training sessions will be held Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend the classes, which will be held at the Red Cross Eureka Office, which is located at 406 11th Street in Eureka.
