Eureka-Redwood Acres opened their new community garden Thursday evening and the highlight was the rose garden the Humboldt Rose Society will oversee and the special rose dedicated to the victims of the September 11th Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania.

Hayward resident, Michael Emerson donated the twenty special hybrid red roses.

The garden is a beautiful addition to Redwood Acres. It was the idea of managing director, Cindy Bedingfield with the design by Daniel Nyiri. Bedingfield said a USDA Grant helped a lot but the community truly stepped up in a huge way to make the garden possible.
