Redwood Memorial to receive $350,000 worth of surgical equipment
FORTUNA- Redwood Memorial Hospital will soon be getting brand new surgical equipment with the community’s help. The hospital’s surgical unit is receiving $350,000 worth of equipment upgrades. The money was raised at the hospital’s annual benefit ball this month.
“The docs are going to be pretty happy with it. Equipment outdates fast and they need wonderful equipment to be able to do their surgeries in the O.R. so every year it's different and this year it was a fantastic year to be able to buy some new equipment,” said Benefit Ball Co-Chairman Becky Giacomini.
The event is Redwood Memorial’s biggest fundraiser of the year. For each benefit, committee members pick an area of the hospital to donate toward. In the benefits’ 33 years of existence, this year’s revenue generated is record breaking and will provide the surgical unit with more equipment than originally requested.
