Rescue Mission Expected To Feed Hundreds Over Holiday
Eureka Rescue Mission's volunteers have been working to pack boxes full of food for those in need this Thanksgiving. The mission is also preparing to feed over 300 people at the Thanksgiving meal the day on Wednesday.
Executive Directory, Bryan Hall, Sr. said they will need over a hundred turkeys to feed all the people in need of food.
"Many people don't have much at all so we're really able to help," said Hall.
The organization plans to give out 75 boxes this year each with a turkey, loaf of bread and other holiday meal items.
The mission was able to fund this years boxed meals and Thanksgiving meal through a grant from the Humboldt Area Foundation.
Hall expects people to line the streets on the day of their Thanksgiving meal.
"Thanksgiving is a day we celebrate here," said Hall.
