RIO DELL- The Rio Dell City Council unanimously approved an update to their nuisance ordinance, voting in favor of issuing a fine to those in violation.
Currently, their is no fine associated with the ordinance that the city can impose.
The ordinance will work like a 'fix it' ticket. Violators would be charged a $100 fine if they do not fix the problem. The third offense within a year would be charged $500.
Many bank owned properties have received complaints said Kyle Knopp, the city manager.
The ordinance will be final after a second reading and approval at the next council meeting.
