RIO DELL- Access to the Eel River in Rio Dell may be restricted based on residents concerns about noise and damage to the river bar. The City Council will make a decision on whether or not they will restrict access to the river.
Residents living near the river bar came to the council complaining about noise and motorized vehicles damaging the river. In response the city sent out a survey to residents about the issue where less than 10 percent or residents replied.
In a staff report Chief of Police, Graham Hill, recommended to the council that the city does not restrict access. Hill also recommended that the council review the city's noise ordinance and increase law enforcement presents along the river bar.
The council will make a decision on the issue at their City Council meeting Wednesday.
