Rio Dell gets water restrictions lifted
Rio Dell - Water restrictions in Rio Dell have been lifted.
In a letter to the city from the State Water Resources Board, officials issued a "Curtailment of Restrictions Notice" for junior water rights holders for the north fork and main stem of the Eel River as well as those on the Van Duzen who had been on a daily ration of 50-gallons of water per person per day.
The water board came to this decision after reviewing new information from a projected water supply and estimated diversion demands as well as a UC Davis model and study. Only those post-1914 water rights holders downstream of the south fork and main stem Eel river confluence are being released from curtailment.
