Robbery at knifepoint in Mckinleyville

Two women were robbed at knife point a little before noon in McKinleyville. Sheriffs deputies say two females had been gambling at Blue Lake Casino and asked for a ride to McKinleyville from an acquaintance and her friend On the way, the driver of the vehicle asked to stop in Trinidad where the friend got out and another woman got in the vehicle. As the car was going to McKinleyville, the vehicle stopped at the forty nine hundred block of Dow's Prairie Road where the woman in the front passenger seat allegedly brandished a knife demanding money. The two victims gave their money and a cell phone then were able to escape and hide in the bushes before calling the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies found the suspect’s vehicle a short time later. Authorities are currently trying to identify the two female suspects.
