ARCATA- Humboldt State University President Rollin Richmond spent his last day with the college on Monday.
Colleagues, faculty and staff celebrated his retirement during the afternoon with refreshments and snacks before saying goodbye.
Richmond is the sixth president of the university and has been with the institution since 2002. He said he spent the beginning of his day like he usually does, by approving budgets and writing letters of recommendations for students.
Richmond said he is looking forward to spending more time with his wife and grandchildren, but said he will stay active in the community. He said he will work on issues related to education.
