On Friday, August 1 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. there will be training scenarios taking place near Commercial and 4th streets in Eureka. The scenarios are part of the College of the Redwoods Crime Scene Investigators Course:
Rollover crash sends one man to the hospital
EUREKA- A two-vehicle crash sends one man to the hospital Friday afternoon. Police said a man driving a red pick-up truck was traveling eastbound on V Street when he ran a red light and struck a Nissan driven by Darrell Whipkey of Oregon, who was driving northbound on 5th Street.
Officers said the Whipkey’s car collided into the passenger door of the red truck, causing it to roll over on its side. Traffic on 5th Street was reduced to one lane while crews cleaned up. The driver of the truck was take to the hospital with unknown injuries.
