Rosser Misses Cut, Eliminated from NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships
ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Junior Fred Rosser finished in 17th place in the men’s 400-meter hurdles in day one prelims of the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He finished the race in 53.92 and missed the cut for Saturday’s finals.
Though Rosser was not one of the top nine finishers and will not participate in Saturday’s finals, Head Coach Scott Pesch was proud of his overall effort against the nation’s top athletes.
“Fred performed on a level today with the best athletes in the country,” said Pesch. “Our program appreciates his hard work and dedication to get here.”
Rosser came into the Championships with momentum after defending his California Collegiate Athletic Association title two weeks earlier. He compiled his season-best time of 52.60 at the conference event in La Jolla, Calif.
Pesch is optimistic that the best is yet to come for the Victorville, Calif., native.
“We all look forward to preparing for next years nationals when he is a senior,” said Pesch.
