EUREKA- Santa didn’t only spend time at Bayshore Mall in Eureka on Friday, he also made his 25th appearance in Old Town.
Kris Kringle arrived at the Old Town Gazeebo just after 2 p.m. on Friday and declared the official start to the holiday season in Eureka. Santa also passed out candy canes, took pictures with kids and walked around Old Town. He was joined by an elf, who helped him pass out candy canes. You can see Santa in Old Town every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. from now until Christmas.
"It brings this community together and it reminds everybody here of the goodness that we should hold in our hearts all year long," said Denise Ryles, who is a Eureka resident.
"I come down here because I like to see all the young people, and people of all ages. Little babies to people that are in their hundreds because it's that time of year to bring joy and happiness to all," said Santa Claus.
