To celebrate summer, the Department of Fish and Wildlife is designating Saturday, July 5th as Free Fishing Day.
It’s a day when those who have never experienced fishing can do so without a license. It’s also a day when experienced anglers can introduce the sport to non-angling friends and children.
All fishing regulations are still intact for the day such as bag limits, gear restrictions and all stream closures.
If you are fishing for steelhead or sturgeon, it is important you have the required report card. Report cards are also mandatory for salmon fishing in the Smith and Klamath-Trinity River Systems.
