DEL NORTE COUNTY- The Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office is warning the community about a new scam.
According to deputies, several residents have reported receiving calls from a person claiming to be from PG&E. The person on the phone proceeds to tell the resident their power will be shut off, unless they pay up. However the interesting part about all this is that Del Norte County gets their electricity from Pacific Power and Light, not PG&E.
Still the Sheriff’s Office is advising residents to be cautious when giving out personal information over the phone.
