Senate passes bill to end shutdown, North Coast reacts
NORTH COAST- The senate has announced a deal to end the government shutdown. It was the first time in seventeen years that the government partially shut down and hundreds of employees in both Humboldt and Del Norte counties were told to stay home.
The Redwood National Parks were shut down and the Bureau of Land Management closed its doors as well. If the shutdown had continued county supervisors were warned that they might have to start prioritizing its services.
The agreement re-opens the government through mid January, and extends the debt limit through February 7th.
