Senior Resource Center costume parade and pumpkin carving
EUREKA - The Humboldt Senior Resource Center joined in the Halloween fun celebrating with a party and parade.
The event is part of their lunch program that draws seniors from throughout the North Coast community.
The center expected to see nearly 100 people turn out for the lunch and celebrations.
Party patrons decorated pumpkins and strutted their costumes in a parade throughout the facility buildings. There was a costume competition as well, with prizes given to the best dressed.
Halloween festivities were happening at the Resource Center’s two other dining centers in Arcata and Fortuna as well.
“In the dining centers we like to celebrate the holidays. Eating food and enjoying good times around the table is just a great event for anyone of any age. And you might think that Halloween is for the little ones but our folks like to dress up also,” Barbara Walser, the Director of Nutrition and Activities, said.
