EUREKA- Humboldt County seniors only had to make one stop today to find all the services they need for their health. The Department of Health and Human Services Mobile Outreach team was out at the Arcata Community Center for their first senior services fair.
This afternoon seniors could stop by several information tables and learn about public health, veteran’s services and in home supportive care. There, they could also sign up for CalFresh or Medi-Cal, and sample healthy holiday recipes. DHHS teamed up with the Humboldt Senior Resource Center and redwood coast pace to make the event possible.
“It's good to work collaboratively, to get all of us together,” Mobile Outreach Coordinator Doug Moyer said. “It's a good networking opportunity for us. But, beyond that, we know that this is a senior site. Seniors come here. So we want to make it easy to access these services.”
Should the Humboldt County Correctional Facility provide more re-entry fairs for prisoners?
