Sentencing for Donald Fregeau, Sr. continued to May 30th
EUREKA- The sentencing of former church pastor, Donald Vincent Fregeau, Sr., has been continued to May 30th. However, Judge Christopher Wilson announced on Friday he will sentence Fregeau to one year in jail on the misdemeanor child molestation charge, and probation for the felony continuous sexual abuse of a minor charge.
Ninety-year-old Fregeau was arrested last year in June after turning himself in to the Fortuna Police Department. Officers conducted an investigation and arrested him shortly after. Police said at the time of the investigation they received information that this has been going on for decades, and a victim came forward. As for the felony charge of continuous sexual abuse of a minor under the age of 14, the judge is awaiting a report from the probation department for terms and conditions before sentencing Fregeau to probation.
