Sex registrant arrested in Eureka

Eureka Police have arrested a man for harassment and/or alleged attempted molestation of two teenaged girls.

Police say that  26 year-old David Lee Dues, known to law enforcement from previous contact and on probation, tried to solicit massages from the girls who were in town to visit Humboldt State University. The two victims told police they were approached by Dues as they were putting their bags in their parents car. Dues asked the girls if he could massage them for a class he was taking and tried to convince them to go behind a dumpster. The girls rejected his offer and returned to the motel and called police. Dues was on summary probation for 9 other offenses including annoying or molesting a child under 18. He was booked in the Humboldt County jail for similar charges.
