Shelter Cove man allegedly assaults another man with his truck

A Shelter Cove man drives his vehicle into another man after an argument over marijuana.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says this past Friday, Eric Jason Lively, 41 from Shelter Cove allegedly got into an argument with a 35 year old victim and his 20 year old girlfriend over a 2-year old marijuana debt. After an exchange of words, Deputies say Lively allegedly drove away then returned to strike the victim with his truck… knocking him to the ground. The victim received minor injuries but refused medical when deputies offered to summon an ambulance. When law enforcement contacted Lively after the incident, he admitted having “bumped” the victim with his truck. Lively was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputies for assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Humboldt County Jail where he was booked. Bail was set at $50,000.
