Sheriff to discuss services in Blue Lake Wednesday
BLUE LAKE- Humboldt County Sheriff Mike Downey has called a special meeting with the residents of Blue Lake to discuss police services in the town.
The Sheriff's Department has been providing services to the city for the past five years. The city signed a new contract at the beginning of the year. Residents told the city that they wanted additional services like a neighborhood watch program and data on crime, but the increased cost of the contract prevented the city from getting them.
The sheriff will bring his command staff to the city to discuss the services they provide under the current contract. The meeting will take place on Wednesday from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Mad River Grange.
