Sheriff's Office releases surveillance photos of robbery suspect
MCKINLEYVILLE- The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office needs the publics help finding a suspect who allegedly robbed the Denny's in McKinleyville.
Around 3:30 Saturday morning, an employee was held at gunpoint inside the restaurant. Deputies say the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen fleeing the restaurant on foot south through the shared parking lot. Multiple agencies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect who was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. No one was injured during the robbery. But the suspect is still on the loose.
"We can hopefully catch this person for his own safety. That's the next step," Denny's Owner Safar Ghaffari said. "And obviously, we consistently reinforce our staff and team members the key word to go through this ordeal is cooperation. Don't antagonize, don't provoke, don't challenge, don't look him in the eye. The sooner you leave, the better safety of everybody because life is precious."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 707-445-7251.
