EUREKA- More than 150 art items will be available at the Silent Art Auction for Sara’s Garden in Eureka.
Sara Goosby was a teacher and family advocate at Headstart all around the North Coast. Her friends say she loved flowers, and now friends of Goosby are raising money for Sara’s Garden, which will be installed in the Humboldt Botanical Garden in Eureka. At the auction, people will be able to bid on donated art from Humboldt County residents. Sara’s friends say the garden will be a reflection of the life Sara Goosby lived.
"This garden is going to be a special garden within the Botanical Gardens. It's going to be scented flowers where people can sit and reflect on the importance of having a full life. And that's what Sara represents. She was a remarkable woman. She has remarkable children and grandchildren so we're just passing on that beauty that Sara really believed in and lived by," said Julie Fulkerson, a friend of Sara Goosby and an organizer of the Silent Art Auction for Sara’s Garden.
The Silent Art Auction will be held on Saturday during Arts Alive, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Gross Building, which is located at 437 F Street in Eureka.
