Silverio Sanchez pleads not guilty to assaulting US Forest Service Officer
EUREKA- The man accused of assaulting a U.S. Forest Service officer with a vehicle back in March was arraigned in court on Monday.
Last month, the prosecutor in the Silverio Sanchez case agreed to drop Sanchez’s attempted murder charge if he waived his preliminary hearing. Sanchez’ defense also agreed to add special allegations of causing great bodily injury to two of Sanchez’ other charges as part of the agreement. Those charges are assault of a peace officer and attempting to elude a peace officer. On Monday, Sanchez pled not guilty to those charges and two counts of witness intimidation. A trial date will be set after a preliminary hearing is held on December 29th for a case from 2010 he is involved in.
