Six Rivers National Forest is now open after the Corral Wildfire shut it down to the public…The Corral Fire has burned over 12-thousand acres and over 17-miles of fire hose has been pulled up. Fire Officials say it is 95% contained…But,downed trees, limited access, and extremely steep terrain continue to present problems for firefighters. Additional personnel in hydrology, soils, geology and botany have also been called in to determine potential threats still in existence… but the last two days has seen moderate to low fire activity. Forestry Officials are predicting full containment by Oct 2nd.
