Soaring the open skies at Southern Oregon Kite Festival
BROOKINGS, OREGON – Hundreds looked to the sky over the weekend to see not a bird, not a plane, but colorful kites!
Sunday was the last day of the 25th annual Southern Oregon Kite Festival.
The event took place in Brookings, Oregon and lasted from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.
The festival is known for bringing some of the best kite-flyers and kite-makers together to perform and display their creations. The event became a non-profit in 2006 managed by community volunteers.
Since starting 1993, the Southern Oregon Kite Festival has been known as one of the more famous kite festivals in the United States.
