More than a dozen local organizations geared toward aiding the community are getting a helping hand of their own from Saint Joseph Health. Eureka Rescue Mission is one of fourteen organizations to receive a Care for the Poor grant. The Rescue Mission has already used its 10,000 dollar grant toward formula and diapers for women and children at the shelter and also much needed food. Saint Joseph Health awarded a total of 140,000 dollars.

The Executive Director of the Eureka Rescue Mission, Bryan Hall Sr. said, “We’re just blessed to have such a giving community and St. Joe and its just beyond anything words can convey how much we appreciate and how much that helps us to help those who come to our services here and our shelters.”

Grant money was also awarded to Humboldt Domestic Violence Services, Humboldt Senior Resource Center and Food for People, among other organizations.
