A 41-year-old man is recovering from surgery after a stabbing at Manila Park.
According to the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office the man was stabbed after he allegedly assaulted a transient male with another man.
Deputies were notified of the stabbing at 8:45 a.m. and located him on the 1800 block of Park Street.
Witnesses told deputies the transient was yelling and arguing with a woman, after he allegedly dumped garbage in the park. The two men reportedly thought the transient was being disrespectful, located him and allegedly beat him up.
In defense, the transient man allegedly stabbed one of the men assaulting him.
No arrests have been made. The Sheriff's Office is forwarding the case to the Humboldt County District Attorney's Office for review.
