Stakeholders discuss health issues facing Klamath Salmon
FORTUNA- Stakeholders were educated on the most recent information regarding Klamath River fish health. Scientists, government employees, university professors, tribes and private companys all attended the meeting hosted by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Oregon State University.
The fish health workshop has been held over the past 10 years to help educate and discuss the issues impacting salmon in the Klamath Basin. The Klamath River Fish Habitat Assessment Program has ranked the fish's health as their highest priority.
Over the past decade fish's health has been impacted. Scientists say juvenile Salmon have become increasingly exposed to disease, which has caused high levels of death.
