State of Emergency declared for Humboldt County
HUMBOLDT COUNTY - A local state of emergency has been declared by Humboldt County Sheriff, Mike Downey.
The recent storms that hit the North Coast February 6-8 have caused an estimated 5.4-million dollars in damages. That sum exceeds the county’s available funding for repairs. The proclamation will allow the county to apply for California Disaster Insurance funding. The most significant damage was to roads and culverts.
The Humboldt County Supervisors are not in session this week and the emergency proclamation will be submitted at the February 24th meeting for the board to consider ratification.
