State Parks Ranger arrested for DUI while on duty
SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT- A California State Parks Ranger is on administrative leave after receiving a DUI while on duty.
Thirty-three year old Tyson Young was arrested August 15 after a citizen reported seeing young allegedly intoxicated while in his patrol car. Young began driving north on State Route 254 near Myers Flatt and was apprehended by the California Highway Patrol.
He was cited and released to state parks officials… and has since been stripped of his peace officer status and placed on leave. Young has been with the Department of Parks and Recreation since 2004. He will remain on leave until the CHP and State Parks complete their investigations.
