State ranks cities and counties according to financial stress
STATE NEWS - A new report has come out releasing the names of the state's most financially distressed cities and counties. The list was compiled by the California Policy Center and Civic Partner.
Some of the most financially distressed cities include Compton in Southern California, Chico and Firebaugh in the central valley. The list excludes Stockton and San Bernardino, both of which remain in bankruptcy. No California city has filed for bankruptcy since the summer of 2012.
On the North Coast, Eureka was number 20 out of 492 cities and counties selected. Arcata was listed at 138. Trinity County came in at 24 while Humboldt was at 182.
