Stolen item to be returned to tourists whose car was burglarized
ORICK- Out of town visitors who were burglarized while hiking in Redwood National and State Parks received some good news on Thursday.
On Saturday Morning, two Long Island, New York residents were walking on a trail off the Newton B. Drury Redwood Scenic Parkway. Ken and Theresa Hessel say when they returned to their car, they saw one of the windows was smashed, and a purse and a National Park Passport Book had been stolen. The book has a collection of stamps from parks all over the country they have visited over the past 20 years. An employee with Prarie Creek State Park found the passport book next to the road on the Newton B. Drury Redwood Scenic Parkway on Tuesday morning. Another employee contacted Ken Hessel on Facebook and arranged to have it mailed to him in New York.
