Students collect $1,000 for local rescue group

MCKINLEYVILLE- Two 7th Graders at Pacific Union Elementary have raised $1,140 for a local animal rescue group. The students raised the money going door to door for a class science project.

The 11th graders wanted to see if people were more willing to give money to a local animal rescue group if they brought a dog that could be adopted. The students were able to raise the money for Miranda's Rescue in Fortuna.

The students presented the money to the organization on Monday.
