MCKINLEYVILLE- McKinleyville Middle School students took a step back in history on Thursday for Civil War Days.
Cannon shots were fired as reenactors brought to life famous battles from the American war. Later in the day students danced to music from the period.
The school has taken part in the celebration for the past 16 years as a way to immerse students into the era. The students have been learning about the politics of the time in multiple disciplines. The day is a way for teachers to bring all that they have learned to life they said.
