Sunny Brae Middle School students participate in Halloween flash mob in Arcata
ARCATA- More than 100 middle school students in Arcata showed their Halloween spirit on Wednesday afternoon by dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” while wearing zombie costumes.
"I think it's important that the community knows and that the rest of the world knows that the arts are alive and that sunny brae middle school really supports that, so I think that's really important. And it's Halloween and it's Michael Jackson and what else could you want?" said Ann Youmans, a 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher at Sunny Brae Middle School.
Students volunteered to participate in the 5th annual Halloween Flash Mob. Performances were held at the Arcata Plaza, Murphy’s Market on Bayside Road and the Adult Day Healthcare of Mad River. One of the students says being in the flash mob was a lot of fun.
"I really like it because I really like to dance so it's a nice opportunity to get to do it during school and get to show the community," said Ariana Atkins-Salazar, a 7th grade student at Sunny Brae Middle School.
