Supervisors to begin structuring Measure Z advisory committee
EUREKA- The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will begin structuring a citizens advisory committee, tasked with overseeing Measure Z funding.
The countywide half-cent sales tax will go into effect April 1. As part of that measure, the supervisors are required to implement an advisory committee. That group will oversee how revenue from the tax measure is dispersed to ensure the funds go towards needed departments like public safety.
At Friday’s special meeting, the supervisors will discuss how many people should be on the committee, who should be appointed and how. Once the committee is formed, it will have to elect it’s own chairperson and create guidelines before the oversight process can begin.
