Surveillance footage of burglary in Eureka used by EPD to charge suspect
EUREKA- An alleged burglar has been caught in the act. The Eureka Police Department has been investigating a burglary at the Gonsea Chinese Restaurant in Eureka since it happened last week.
Surveillance footage was recently provided to the EPD by the business owners. It shows the suspect stealing coins from a donation display board for a sick child, as well as removing the cash register after using a metal kitchen cleaver to cut its power chord. Using the video, officers identified the suspect as 26-year-old Eureka resident John Osborn. He was already in custody for a burglary of a vacant business in Eureka on August 1st, when officers charged him for the restaurant burglary.
