EUREKA- The 16-year-old teenage girl connected to the recent fatal crossbow shooting was back in court Thursday to see whether she should be tried as an adult. The defense today asked for extra time to allow the probation department to prepare a report.
The report will state whether or not the teen is fit for the juvenile system or if she will be charged as an adult. In September she pleaded not guilty to one count of murder and one count of attempted murder and is currently being tried an a juvenile. She and her alleged 20-year-old accomplice Phoenix King are accused of shooting and killing a man and injuring another with a crossbow over stolen items from a campsite. The prosecution said it is still an ongoing investigation and the teen is expected to be back in court on Nov. 21.
